It was a grand day out today at The Collection. Children were brilliant and so was the experience!
We had a short lecture about how the Romans colonised Lincoln (Lindum Colonia) then enjoyed three workshops:
Roman shopping – buying food from a Roman market stall with Roman coins.
Shield making – learning about the parts of a Roman shield then making our own.
Archaeological Dig – chance to dig up items and deduce what they might tell us about a way of life.
We had lunch in the Usher Art Gallery and a play in the shadow of the Cathedral before a tour of the museum and a visit to the shop. Our children were a credit to the school.
