Remembrance Weekend

It was a really special service today. The sun shone as we remembered the fallen amongst the war graves at Scampton Church. Children’s artwork adorned flags, a wreath and of course the poppies that were planted in graves and surrounded the doorway of the church.

Children were very respectful and thoughtful – they all wore poppies that had been made by children at Playmate preschool. One of the visitors today – Les Rutherford, a 98 year old veteran shared stories with some of our School Council members. He laid a wreath on the German war graves.

If you get chance to visit the church over the weekend, please do. The church is specially decorated for this important time.

Many thanks to all the agencies involved in today’s events.
